PAYMENT OF FEES
Since the School receives part of its operating budget from
its clinical programs, there are patient fees associated with the services
rendered. However, these fees in the student clinics are generally less
than what one might pay in a private dental practice. The fees in the
Community Practices are comparable to a private dental practice.
All fees are expected to be paid at the time of treatment.
We accept
cash, checks with proper identification, and VISA, MasterCard, and
Discover credit cards. Some procedures such as crowns, bridges,
dentures, and partial dentures, may be paid in incremental payments,
as they require laboratory processing and multiple appointments for
completion. A portion of the total fee for the appliance will be
collected at the first appointment for the procedure to cover
anticipated laboratory expenses. The remaining balance of the fee
must be paid in full before the finished appliance is delivered.
Patients with commercial insurance are expected to pay our
standard clinic fees
by any of the above methods. We will provide the patient with an
appropriate standard insurance claim form with all necessary
information on procedures performed for submission to your individual
insurance company for reimbursement according to your policy
provisions.
The UNLV School of Dental Medicine attempts to keep fees
as low as possible. However, rising costs of providing care may require
fee increases. Fees may increase without notification. You will always
be advised of the fee for a procedure before it is started.
